Fill your boots or grab light snacks in the atmospheric 17th-century Brewhouse. New for 2025, book your Christmas Lunch, more information coming soon. With Fairtrade and sustainability in mind, you'll find a growing collection of ethical gifts in the shop. You might even find a rare copy of your favourite novel tucked away in the second-hand bookshop in the house.
Stepping over the threshold, we’ve got light lunches and snacks to help you refuel. Alternatively, you can enjoy a sandwich followed by a delicious home-baked cake or cream tea with a fluffy scone, jam, clotted cream and a hot drink. Seating is available inside or in the tea-garden.
Don't miss menu highlights including our roasted red pepper quiche, indulgent doughnuts and iced French vanilla milk drink.
The original oak beams and stonework can still be seen inside the 17th-century brewhouse, where hops grown on the estate were made into ale. The cosy interior creates a relaxing place for you to relax after a walk in the woodlands or tour of the house.
The kiosk is located in the tea garden, this serves hot and cold drinks, scooped ice-cream, soft serve & snacks. The Snack Shack is located by Visitor Reception, this serves hot and cold drinks, scooped ice-cream and snacks.
Children's lunch boxes are available. Highchairs are available on request and a microwave is located in the ground floor seating area for warming milk. As the tea-room is rather snug, we kindly ask that you leave buggies and pushchairs outside.

Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.

Located right next to the main house and Brewhouse tea-room, browse exclusive National Trust seasonal ranges, homeware, garden items, accessories, souvenirs and locally sourced treats. All proceeds from the shop go straight back into vital conservation projects at The Vyne. Please note some products in the photo may not be available to buy at The Vyne.
Tucked away in the servants’ quarters of the house and featuring a bay-fronted window with cushioned seating, this much-loved, welcoming bookshop is well-stocked. Browse novels from crime to comedy, and non-fiction covering a wide range of categories including history, biography, gardening cinema and photography. There are plenty of children's books too, for little ones through to teens.

Enjoy a cream tea in the tea-room before joining Lizzie Dunford, Director for Jane Austen’s House, Chawton and Joy Pibworth, longstanding member of the Jane Austen Society as they discuss Britain’s best-loved Regency author in the house at The Vyne. Tickets £20.
Thursday 25 September | Gates open 2.15pm | Cream tea 2.30-3.15pm | Talk 3.30-4.30pm. From petticoats to pantaloons, chemise to shifts, following an indulgent cream tea in the Brewhouse tea-room, enjoy an interactive and irreverent presentation regarding Regency 'underpinnings' in the house. Tickets £20.
The Sandys and Chute families made The Vyne their home for over 500 years. They accumulated beautiful and important objects and made significant changes to the house during their lives, which you will see as you explore the opulent state rooms and humble servants’ quarters. Marking 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen, you can enjoy a selection of events including exhibition 'Regency Revisited' and on select dates 'Jane Austen House Tours', and Austen-inspired talks.
