Summer holiday activities
Before your well earned break by the river, there are plenty of ideas to occupy the family. For example, we're celebrating the 1920's this summer with themed events to highlight the heyday of the gardens.
We have themed trail sheets to get the most out of your visit, children's activities and even a mini beach on the banks of the river. Family activities are available every day during the school holidays and trail sheets cost £2.50 from the car park kiosk.
In addition we have different activities for the kids every Wednesday. They could be making puppets, taking part in '50 things to do' activities or having a snack cooked on a campfire. As some of the projects can get a bit messy, it's best to wear suitable clothing.
50 things to do before you are 11 ¾
Start your 50 things to do before you are 11 ¾ adventure with us this summer. You can roll down our big hill, skim a stone, make a daisy chain, hunt for bugs and many more at The Weir. Click on the link below to find out more and download the App.
As always the natural play area is open as well as the tea room for refreshments; if you haven't got a picnic. Why not pop into the walled garden while you're with us to see if you can identify all of the vegetables growing there and maybe take some home for your tea?
