Reflect on your visit at The Workhouse

Pumpkins growing in the garden of The Workhouse

Contemplate your visit within our gardens and cafe

Autumn at The Workhouse brings a splash of colour to the gardens as squash and pumpkins ripen and the ancient Bramley apple trees start to bear fruit. Today, visitors can celebrate the season of plenty but historically little of the produce would have been grown for the paupers' benefit.

In fine weather you can enjoy the recreated Victorian vegetable garden where you are welcome to picnic. Alternatively, you can visit the cafe for a variety of snacks, warming soup and hot drinks. Every cuppa or tasty treat you buy helps us continue looking after The Workhouse for ever, for everyone.
