Local Residents’ Pass at Tredegar House

The Local Residents’ Pass is available exclusively to Newport residents who live close to Tredegar House. With the pass, you and your family will be able to visit Tredegar House for free throughout the year.

What is the Local Residents' Pass?

The Local Residents’ Pass has been set up for those living close to Tredegar House who would like to visit throughout the year. Those with a Local Residents’ Pass do not have to pay entry fees to the house or gardens.

What do I get?

Unlimited free visits to Tredegar House! This includes entry to major events such as Easter, Captain Henry Morgan’s Pirate Weekend, Hallowe’en and Christmas.

Please note, there may be additional charges for activities once inside the pay barrier, such as visits to Father Christmas or for our annual Easter egg trail.

Who is eligible?

The Local Residents’ Pass is available to those living within the red boundary on the Local Residents’ Pass map.

One Local Residents’ Pass will be issued per household which will entitle two adults and three children (16 and under) to visit Tredegar House.

How much does the Local Residents’ Pass cost?

The Local Residents’ Pass will allow you and your family unlimited, free entry to Tredegar House throughout the year. There is an administrative cost of £5 per pass.

We encourage residents walk or cycle to Tredegar House as parking charges apply.

How do I join?

You can join by popping into the Visitor Reception by the car park and speaking to our team. You will need to bring proof of your address (such as a utility bill or council tax bill) from within the last three months and some valid ID.

The Visitor Reception is open from 10am until 4pm seven days a week during the main season. Please see the website homepage for full opening times.

Can I use the Local Residents’ Pass at other National Trust places?

No, the Local Residents’ Pass is only valid at Tredegar House.
