Volunteer at Uppark House and Garden

Group of Uppark volunteers

Whether you have a few hours or a day to spare we have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people or bring your own talents to our team at Uppark.

Room guides

Room guides have a vital role to play in bringing our places to life, for inspiring our visitors and helping them to learn more about their place in an interesting and enjoyable way. As the public face of Uppark our volunteers provide a warm, friendly welcome to all our visitors.

In this role you will help visitors to discover more by answering questions, giving short talks, helping with children’s quizzes and much more.

Meet the volunteers at Uppark

Our house volunteers Ted and Leslie both volunteer in our house at Uppark and have reaped the benefits from meeting new people to learning new skills.

Our garden volunteers have the unique opportunity to work in a beautiful setting within the South Downs National Park. Our steadfast team of volunteers help us maintain and develop the garden and surrounding countryside.

Friendly and approachable, garden volunteers are happy to engage with our visitors and share their knowledge and passion for the work of The National Trust.
