Volunteer at Uppark House and Garden
Whether you have a few hours or a day to spare we have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people or bring your own talents to our team at Uppark.
Room guides have a vital role to play in bringing our places to life, for inspiring our visitors and helping them to learn more about their place in an interesting and enjoyable way. As the public face of Uppark our volunteers provide a warm, friendly welcome to all our visitors.
In this role you will help visitors to discover more by answering questions, giving short talks, helping with children’s quizzes and much more.
Golden Gate meeter & greeter
As a Golden Gate meeter and greeter, you will operate in the kiosk just inside the garden gate, give all of our visitors a warm and cheerful welcome. You'll also sell guidebooks and assist on events days, for example offering children’s quiz trails to families.
Our garden volunteers have the unique opportunity to work in a beautiful setting within the South Downs National Park. Our steadfast team of volunteers help us maintain and develop the garden and surrounding countryside.
Friendly and approachable, garden volunteers are happy to engage with our visitors and share their knowledge and passion for the work of The National Trust.
Please note, we are currently not recruiting for volunteer gardeners. Please to keep checking in case this changes.
