Fused Glass Workshop with Suzie Lavender - Spring Meadow Bunting & Glass Jewellery Techniques

Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two sessions of fused glass making techniques. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.

Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm: Spring Meadow Workshop - £45 In this workshop you will learn some basic glass fusing, cutting and layering techniques with coloured glass accessories and 'murrini' glass. Participants will be introduced a selection of materials and tools. All participants will make a set of five Spring themed pennant triangles in colours of your choice.

Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm: Glass Jewellery Techniques Workshop - £45 Each participant will be able to create several jewellery items using different techniques and accessories. You will learn about glass decals and try out various techniques to see how simple costume jewellery featuring fused glass can be created. If you have any metal allergies please contact Suzie. You will make between 6 and 10 small glass pieces which will be fitted with a selection of metal findings when you collect them.

Book onto both sessions for the discounted price of £85. All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14 days later.

Booking essential, admission costs, all materials, safety equipment, tools, plus tea and coffee are provided in the workshop fee. Please wear closed toe shoes, workshop room not wheelchair accessible.

Suitability

Over 18's only.

Meeting point

Please park in the main car park and make your way up the path to the Manor. The course will take place in the Meeting Room which is located above the Old Manor shop (not wheelchair accessible).

What to bring and wear

Please wear closed toe shoes, no stiletto heels.

Accessibility

Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel. The Meeting Room is located on the second floor of the old Manor building, up a short flight of stairs (no wheelchair access). Visitor toilets are in a separate building next to the tearoom. Contact Suzie with any specific requests, access or assistance needs or requirements.

All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14days later. Please note that access can be limited/difficult for persons with a disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is not wheelchair accessible. Other venues where Suzie also holds workshops do have access however, please contact Suzie for more information.
