Fused Glass Workshop with Suzie Lavender: Festive Glass Decorations and Seasonal Platters/Curves

Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two sessions of fused glass making techniques.

You are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon workshop or you can attend both sessions for the day at a discounted price. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course. Your workshop ticket also entitles you to full entry to the Manor and Gardens, Café, Gallery and shop!

Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm: Festive Glass Decorations - £45 Suzie will introduce you to a range of materials and tools, guiding you as you design in your own colour scheme. Each participant will create five beautiful fused‑glass Christmas decorations ready for firing.

Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm: Platters & Curves Glass Design Workshop - £45 Create a beautiful fused‑glass piece for your home in this engaging Platters and Curves workshop. You’ll learn about the art of glass slumping—how heat and moulds shape flat glass into elegant forms, before designing and building your own piece ready for firing.

Book onto both sessions for the discounted price of £85. All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14 days later.

Booking essential, admission costs, all materials, safety equipment, tools, plus tea and coffee are provided in the workshop fee. Please wear closed toe shoes, workshop room not wheelchair accessible.

Accessibility

Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel. The Meeting Room is located on the second floor of the old Manor building, up a short flight of stairs (no wheelchair access). Visitor toilets are in a separate building next to the tearoom. Contact Suzie with any specific requests, access or assistance needs or requirements.

Meeting point

Please park in the main car park and make your way up the path to the Manor. The course will take place in the Meeting Room which is located above the Old Manor shop (not wheelchair accessible).

What to bring and wear

Please wear closed toe shoes, no stiletto heels.

All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14days later. Please note that access can be limited/difficult for persons with a disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is not wheelchair accessible. Other venues where Suzie also holds workshops do have access however, please contact Suzie for more information.
