Christmas in the house

Treasure time together this Christmas.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

From 17 November, the house at Anglesey Abbey will be beautifully decorated for the Christmas season, with traditional festive displays highlighting Lord Fairhaven’s vast and significant collection.

Step inside to discover a treasure-trove of history and admire the elegant Christmas decorations in each room. Children can also continue their journey with The Snowman™ indoors by spotting The Snowman™ toys in each room, hidden among the decorations.

Over the Christmas period, the house is open daily from 11am to 3.30pm (last entry at 3pm) and this year, you can enjoy seeing the festive decorations in The Living Room, Oak Room, Dining Room, Library, Tapestry Hall and Domestic Wing.

Please note that the house will be fully closed from 1 to 16 November while the team packs down the Tailoring an Image exhibition and decorates the house for Christmas.

In the wider estate, visit the sensory winter garden, indulge in festive shopping and embark on a wintry adventure in the Woodland Play Area.

Entry is free for National Trust members, and normal admission applies to non-members.

There is no need to pre-book to visit the house. Once inside, you're able to take as long as you wish until the house closes. Please note that Anglesey Abbey will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but open again on Boxing Day. We look forward to welcoming you.
