Join us for some Japanese painting in a beginner friendly painting workshop at Tatton Park!

Topic: Summer Blossoms. Explore your creative side and discover new techniques with this fun, hands-on experience. Learn from local artist and experienced teacher Ula Fung, who’ll show you how to paint using traditional techniques and materials such as bamboo brushes, sumi ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (traditional Japanese colours), and gold leaf. You’ll paint seasonal subjects, learning from a selection of references drawn from various Japanese art movements such as Ukiyo-e and the Rinpa School, as well as many contemporary Japanese artists. We’ll also bring along a variety of materials to suit the theme of the day. This painting class is suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more artistic experience. At the end of your art class, you'll get the chance to stand back and admire your beautiful Japanese painting. *Towards the end of the workshop there will be an opportunity for you to get your photo taken. We will use these photos for social media and promotional use. Please let us know if you're not comfortable with this. Knowledge required: Beginner friendly - all levels welcome. Materials (all provided): Sumi ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (Traditional Japanese colours), gold leaves, Mulberry Paper or board. What you'll get: All of the equipment and materials needed for your class and protective equipment such as aprons.

Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on & a carrying bag for take your artworks home.
- Accessibility
Please note that this workshop takes place on the first floor of a historic barn, with no lift access. There are some uneven surfaces and historic cobbles in and around the Stableyard.
