Canaletto Reconstructed: A Mixed Media Collage Workshop with Ula Fung

Local Artist Ula Fung will teach you how to combine elements of Canaletto's work into fun & contemporary collages.

This workshop is designed to welcome people of all abilities and our aim is to combine both fun and learning to make for a hands on engaging experience. Guided by local artist Ula Fung, you’ll take inspiration from Canaletto’s compositions and transform them through collage. Using a range of materials including acrylic paint, printing ink, monoprinting techniques, and photographic elements, you’ll create your own contemporary response to his timeless views. The session will begin with a short discussion and demonstration exploring Canaletto’s artistic approach, followed by plenty of hands-on making time. Whether you’re an experienced artist or a curious beginner, this 2.5-hour workshop offers a relaxed and inspiring way to engage with Canaletto’s art and reimagine it for today.

Knowledge required: Beginner friendly - all levels welcome.

Materials (all provided): Paper, acrylic paints and various mixed media materials.

What you'll get: All of the equipment and materials needed for your class, including protective equipment such as aprons.

What to bring: Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on and a carrying bag for take your artworks home.

Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on & a carrying bag for take your artworks home.

Accessibility

The Barn Rooms are a short walk from the main car park. There are spaces close to the Barn Rooms for use by blue badge holders. There are some uneven surfaces and historic cobbles in and around the stableyard. Please note that this workshop takes place on the first floor of a historic barn, with no lift access.
