Volunteering at East Pool Mine and Michell's Engine House
Can you bring the history of our mining sites to life with your storytelling? Do you want to help create a fantastic visitor experience for lots of different types of people? Are you interested in different ways of interpreting our places using different mediums such as art and music?
If you love to inform, educate and entertain – as well as interact with visitors looking to learn more about the history of these special places – then volunteering with us is perfect for you.

Volunteer roles:
Tour Guide
No day is the same as a tour guide at East Pool Mine with our diverse audiences and tour changes with different programming themes, we can offer you a varied and exciting oppertunity to bring the story of this mine to life.
Family and Young People Guide
If you are passionate about enabling family, children and young people to enjoy nature and heritage then this role is for you. Help create and deliver enriching, interesting and entertaining tours to these audiences using different engagment techniques.
Arts Ambassador
Play a role in planning and supervising a variety of different exhibitions and installations and be a point of information for visitors who have come to experience our mining sites in different ways.
