Walking Together - what is it?

Walking Together is a special adventure just for dogs and their favourite humans. It's led by local dog trainer Vicki from Love Your Paws and each session offers a chance to build better connections with your dog, learn simple on-lead skills, and enjoy the landscape together in a kind and thoughtful way.

These walks have been created as part of the Dogs of Godolphin project which celebrates canine visitors to Godolphin and explores how we can make the estate welcoming for everyone through thoughtful changes and collaborative partnerships.

What to expect

Each session begins with a short welcome and briefing before heading off on a gentle hour-long walk through the Godolphin estate, including a route up onto the Hill. Along the way, Vicki shares simple, practical tips on lead walking, focus and engagement, with plenty of chances to practise in a relaxed and supportive setting.

What you need to know

Livestock, including cattle, may be present along the route, but both animals and dogs will be given ample space to avoid close contact.

These walks are free to join, and spaces are limited to six dogs per session (one dog per booking) to keep things calm and comfortable. All dogs stay on lead throughout, and sessions are suitable for all breeds and ages — as long as your dog is happy in a group setting.

The walks will take place on the following dates:

Saturday 27 September 9.30 - 11.30am
Friday 17 October 11.30am - 1.30pm
Saturday 29 November 9.30 - 11.30am

This is a collaborative project between the National Trust and Love Your Paws, supported by Forthglade Natural Pet Food. Vicki brings a kind, science-based approach to training, helping you understand life from your dog’s perspective and build a stronger bond through gentle, thoughtful techniques.
