Arlington Court: A Home for Nature

Discover Arlington Court through the lens of Rosalie Chichester with this new summer exhibition.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Arlington Court: A Home for Nature (20 June–4 October 2026) is a new exhibition that invites visitors to explore the estate through the lens of Rosalie Chichester, whose deep connection to nature inspired her to leave Arlington to the National Trust.

Her photographs, recently conserved and digitised, form a key part of her legacy, capturing a changing landscape and continuing to inform how the estate evolves today.

Exhibition highlights:

- Wander a photography trail placing her images back in the landscape

- Explore personal stories and objects in the house

- See how her vision continues to shape today’s nature restoration

This exhibition links past, present and future, highlighting Rosalie’s creativity, her relationship with nature, and Arlington’s transformation over time. Through photographs, objects and the landscape itself, it positions the estate as a place of reflection, habitat and inspiration.

A programme of creative activities includes art boxes, a local school nature photography exhibition, workshops, and guided walks. Additional displays at nearby locations including Woolacombe, Heddon and Hartland highlight her wider connections in North Devon, while a new fundraising pin badge supports ongoing work at Arlington and celebrates her enduring legacy.

This exhibition is free for National Trust members, normal admission prices apply for non-members. Booking is not required.
