Step into our bright new play hub - where big imaginations shine, crazy golf awaits and messy masterpieces are made. With daily summer activities and cosy shelters for English weather, it’s the perfect spot for family fun all season long.

Our bright and colourful new play hub is ready for big imaginations, energetic explorers and families looking for a place to unwind and have fun together.

Will you step into the spotlight on our performance stage? Will you take on all challengers at crazy golf? Will you dive into the mud kitchen and whip up your latest messy masterpiece?

However you love to play, there's plenty of room here for you to make it your own.

Come back throughout the summer as we roll out a changing programme of daily activities, perfect for repeat visits and long, lazy days outdoors:

Monday - Nature Walk, 11:00 & 12:00 Explore the gardens with a Ranger and discover wildlife along the way.

Tuesday - Story time, 11:00 & 14:00 Enjoy story time with international storyteller and children's author, Clive Pig.

Wednesday - Pokémon Club, drop in anytime Join Bridge Troll Hobbies for Pokémon fun. Learn to play, battle and trade.

Thursday - Printmaking, 13:00 to 15:00 Create a Burgess inspired print with Double Elephant print workshop.

Friday - Create & Craft, drop in anytime Hands-on creative fun for all ages.

And because this is England, you'll also find handy shelters dotted around the play hub, giving you a cosy spot to duck into should the weather turn.

The basics

Accessibility

The play hub is set up on an area of grass which is uneven underfoot. There is step free access to the play hub, which is reached via tarmac and gravel pathways.

Meeting point

When you arrive, make your way to Visitor Reception and then follow the bunting to the play hub.

What to bring and wear

Please dress appropriately for the weather. The play area is outside with areas of handy shelters for shade or rain. Bring a picnic blanket and stay for lunch.
