The castle was a busy hub of activity during the medieval period with houses, workshops and stables all within the castle walls. Focusing on this era, the artefacts reveal intricate details of everyday life at the castle 800 years ago. Look out for the cheater’s dice, tweezers, a bone flute, personal adornments and other intriguing everyday items.
This is your chance to see these tiny ancient objects up close, sparking your imagination about the people who once made and used them.

- What to bring and wear
The exhibition is indoors at the Welcome Centre and is sheltered. If you plan to visit the castle, wear clothing appropriate for exploring outdoor castle ruins.

The exhibition is situated on the ground floor Welcome Centre with level access. There is a Changing Places unit and accessible toilet available at the Welcome Centre.
