Meet the Grazier
Did you know the castle mound is grazed by Hebridean sheep in the summer months? Meet local grazier Emily Smith and find out how her flock of woolly lawnmowers help to look after Corfe Castle.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Come along to the castle and meet local grazier Emily Smith. Emily will be on hand to talk about her Hebridean sheep, who graze the castle mound in the summer months.
Hebrideans are very hardy sheep and love to browse. This makes them the perfect sheep for managing vegetation on the slopes at Corfe Castle, keeping it in tip top condition for the rare plants, butterflies and insects that call these slopes their home.
Come along and find out more about these wonderful woolly lawnmowers!
