What's coming up at Kingston Lacy

Jump to
There's always plenty to do at Kingston Lacy. This February, slow your art rate, discover the magic of snowdrops and look forward to the coming year by planting a seed at half term.
February half term (14-22 February)
Green fingers at the ready! This half term we'll be busy in the tipi (at the start of the Woodland Walk – ask at reception for directions if you're not sure) planting seeds and getting crafty.
You'll be able to decorate an eco pot and choose a seed to plant and take home. What will you watch grow this year? There'll be seasonal craft activities as well.
This is a free activity for everyone, but please consider leaving a small donation if you enjoy yourselves.

Meet Rembrandt: a slow looking experience
A magnificent self-portrait by Rembrandt, normally at Buckland Abbey, is on display at Kingston Lacy until 22 March. It's in a wheelchair-accessible space, and accompanied by special audio guides that tell you more about the painting and encourage you to slow down and take your time to absorb all the wonderful details.
Talk: Rembrandt and the science of art (10 March)
Book now to hear Rebecca Hellen, National Conservator for Visual Arts, on the science and skill of art conservation. She will be sharing how her work expands our understanding of art, discussing what can be learnt from conservation and bringing to life not only this Rembrandt self-portrait but other paintings within the Trust's collection.
The talk at 3.30pm will include time for you to enjoy the slow looking audio guide, followed by Rebecca’s talk and time for questions. Tickets cost £15; click below to find out all the details.
