Gladiator Weekend at Chedworth Roman Villa

Roman gladiators return to Chedworth Roman Villa on 20 and 21 June 2026 for one of the Cotswolds' most anticipated summer traditions.

Master combat techniques at Gladiator School, watch warriors clash in military demonstrations, and discover the true stories behind these legendary fighters. Who were the gladiators? Where did they come from? Find out in the main arena shows at 11:00 and 14:30 each day.

Each show ends with the moment dads have been waiting for. Families unite to challenge the fathers in combat. Will dad emerge victorious, or will the kids claim glory? What better way to spend Father's Day Weekend?

Between performances, meet the gladiators, explore their weapons and armour, and learn about Roman life. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds, grab lunch at the café, or browse the shop for Roman-inspired gifts.

Entry to the villa from 10:00. Normal admission charges apply, with free entry for National Trust members. No booking required.
