Making a house a home

How did the tenants of Newark Park choose to decorate their home? Step into the dining room mid renovation and discover how a tenant property transformed into a lived in family home.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

From 17 April to 31 May, the dining room will look very different. Instead of its usual presentation, it will appear as though it is in the midst of redecoration, revealing the choices made by tenant families during their time at Newark Park. Explore how residents in the 1890s shaped the house through their use of colour, texture, and design—expressing their identity and turning Newark Park into a home.
