Bat Box Making

Create a home for bats this October half term. Perfect for children, all tools and materials will be provided.

  • Booking essential

Join us for a hands-on Bat Box Making Workshop in the barn at Tinkley Gate.

Woodchester Park is home to a nationally significant bat population, and bats need safe places to roost throughout the year. In this family-friendly workshop, you'll build your own wooden bat box to take home, giving the bats where you live an extra place to shelter and rest.

This practical activity is perfect for families who enjoy making things together and want to take positive action for nature. We will be on hand to guide you through the construction process and share tips on where to position your bat box for the best chance of attracting visitors.

No previous DIY experience is needed, and all materials and equipment will be provided.

Suitable for children accompanied by an adult.

The price of the ticket is for 1 bat box, we have enough space to make 1 bat box between 2 if you would like to share the tools and make a joint project. Please only book for 1 bat box.

Adults go free, there is no need to book a ticket. Due to the space available in the barn, we request that maximum 2 adults accompany each child.
