Heritage Open Days at Mottisfont 2025
Join us for this year’s Heritage Open days and enjoy free entry to this historic National Trust property where there is so much to explore!
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Uncover the rich layers of Mottisfont’s past and learn about the people who have shaped its history. Explore the house and discover its transformation from a 13th century Augustinian priory to a comfortable Georgian country home, where medieval features are still visible today.
Enjoy free guided walks and talks with our knowledgeable volunteer guides and learn about the history of the gardens and surrounding landscape. Stroll along the river walk, wander around our walled gardens, and enjoy the outdoors as the grounds start to show the first signs of autumn.
Visit the art gallery to see our Chitty Chitty Bang Bang exhibition featuring original illustrations by John Burningham from the beloved book by Ian Fleming, who himself had a personal connection to Mottisfont.
While you’re here, why not relax in one of our cafés with a scone or a piece of our delicious homemade cake, and don't forget to visit our gift shop and plant centre where we have ranges inspired by beautiful National Trust places. Pop into our second-hand bookshop, or head to our Wild Play area where younger visitors can practice their climbing skills.
