Deep Dive into Paintings and First World War Poetry

Come and join us for an immersive deep dive into a Stanley Spencer painting, followed by a First World War poetry reading. Each painting talk and poetry reading lasts approximately 15 minutes.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Once a month there is an opportunity to join us for a deep dive into an individual painting given by one of our experienced Chapel Stewards. This exclusive opportunity will last approximately 15 minutes and help you understand Stanley’s painting style, his inspiration and context within the setting. This is then followed by a unique experience of hearing poetry from First World War poets spoken in the Chapel. Painting talks are at 11.30, 12.30, 1.15 and 2.15 with poetry at 11.45, 12.45, 1.30 and 2.30
