History of Milling – Talk and Hands-on Demonstration
To celebrate National Mills weekend we'll be offering some unique talks and demonstrations.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Join us to learn about the history of Winchester City Mill, its changes of use through time, the milling process, our local wildlife and, finally, the machinery details and how it works.
A part of this extra special talk and tour to celebrate National Mills Weekend you can have a go at using the quern, an ancient device for grinding grain, and learn all about milling and why it's such a fun tradition for everyone.
This is a free event although we do welcome donations which will help us raise money for the conservation of City Mill.
Please note these talks are volunteer led and can be subject to last minute changes.
