Wilding the West
Walk the land at Dunsbury Farm and see nature recovery in action with the ranger team making it happen.
- Booking essential
- Free event (admission applies)
Since 2015, the National Trust has been transforming Dunsbury Farm from intensive arable land into a wildlife-rich coastal landscape. Join our countryside staff for a guided walk exploring this wilding project in the heart of the Isle of Wight Biosphere Reserve, and find out how the land is changing, from soil restoration and shifting grassland habitats to the return of raptors, linnets and wildflowers.
Along the way, we’ll talk through what nature recovery really looks like on the ground: the management decisions, the gradual changes, and what’s still to come, including plans for wet grassland and fen habitat.
