Evening Bat Walks at Aira Force
Head out for family-friendly bat and wildlife spotting adventures after dark with our Ranger team at Aira Force.

New for 2025. Join us at dusk and as things get dark, the time of day when Aira Force’s bats are coming out to fly and feed.
Enjoy a fun family-friendly introduction to bats before setting off on a family friendly guided walk with our bat detectors to see what you can find. It’s not just bats out at night, maybe you’ll hear the call of an owl or the rustle of a passing mouse.
Head back to the welcome hut to warm up with a hot drink and share your experiences.
£10 per adult, under 16's go free. Meet at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. Finished by 9pm.

- Meeting point
Meet at the welcome hut at 7.15pm and grab a hot drink. We plan to start no later than 7.30pm.
- What to bring and wear
This is an outdoor event so please wrap up warm, bring your waterproofs and wear suitable footwear. Remember to bring a headtorch as we will be heading out after dark.

Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs so we can make arrangements as needed.
- Other
This is an outdoor event that will go ahead in most weather so please come dressed for the weather. Please make sure you have warm clothes, waterproofs, appropriate footwear and headtorches. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the event. In the event that the weather forecast is so bad that the bat walk can't take place the walk will be replaced with an indoor session with the rangers. Sorry, dogs are not permitted at this event as they can disturb the bats and other wildlife we are looking to hopefully spot. Standard parking charges apply, free parking for National Trust members.
