Beatrix Potter's influence has spanned generations, but there was so much more to her than her little books. Join our team in her orchard at Hill Top to learn more.
Remember, it's always best to book your visit to the house in advance to avoid disappointment, so if you're interested in our 20-minute talks, we suggest scheduling your visit around these. Check below for talk topics and times.

• Tuesday 27 May: Beatrix’s life and legacy as a farmer in the Lakes - 11 am & 2 pm

• Thursday 29 May: Beatrix and the village of Near Sawrey - 11 am & 2 pm
• Friday 30 May: Beatrix and her illustrations (in relation to the village) - 11 am & 2 pm
• Saturday 31 May: 11 am - Beatrix and her holidays 2 pm - Beatrix and her life in Kensington

This event welcomes children accompanied by adults.
- Meeting point
Our team will hold the talks in the orchard, but check in at our reception in the car park before heading to the property to ensure you have your visit token.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather. To protect the collection, large bags should be left in the car or our lockers, where possible, before entering the house.
- Accessibility
The orchard has some uneven ground, but we will do our best to ensure the experience is accessible for everyone. There are fidget toys and other items available in our reception and seating area on the property. If you have any requirements that you wish us to know about and are attending these talks, feel free to let us know in advance of your visit and we will do our best to accommodate.
