Beatrix Potter's birthday
Celebrate Beatrix Potter's birthday in our orchard.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Beatrix Potter was born as Helen Beatrix Potter in London on 28 July 1866. We'll be celebrating the anniversary of her birth over three days by writing letters to Beatrix in the orchard as part of the 'My Dear Beatrix...' event in 2025.
There will also be storytelling between 15:00 - 16:00 on 28 July, her birthday, in the orchard; what better place to hear one of Beatrix's tales?
Play games, enjoy a hot drink or some food from Joeys, and take in the garden and surrounding landscapes that inspired illustrations in The Tale of Tom Kitten, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, and more. Try your hand at some art, or grab a picnic blanket and connect with nature.
Inside the house, see the brand new Mischief in Miniature scene in honour of Beatrix's birthday.
Book your visit in advance to avoid disappointment!
