Summer Daze: Cyanotype Workshop and Guided Walk
Join award-winning photographer Joanne Coates for a midsummer walk and cyanotype workshop.
- Booking essential
- Free event (admission applies)
Join award-winning photographer and visual artist Joanne Coates for a midsummer guided walk and creative cyanotype workshop that brings together landscape, land-use and image-making. Explore Joanne’s site-specific project Daughters of the Soil, rooted in the rhythms of farming, nature and rural lives. Then take your place as maker: participate in a hands-on cyanotype printing session (one of photography’s oldest processes), followed by a trail walk through the land that inspired the work.
For the workshop you’ll use natural materials, found objects and play with light and shadows to make your own blue-print photographic prints.
Finish with a trail walk around the farm/grounds — spotting details, thinking about image and place, and putting your new awareness into practice.
No prior experience in photography or cyanotype is required — open to all levels.
