Summer Games at Ham House and Garden
Enjoy classic summer lawn games at Ham House and Garden from 21 July to 2 September 2026!
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Come and enjoy classic lawn games including croquet and badminton with a spectacular 17th-century backdrop this summer.
The shaded maze‑like Wilderness is ideal for a round of hide and seek, a timeless favourite for all ages. Catch your breath in the Garden Room with some colouring-in and grab a seasonal garden spotter sheet. Little ones can dive into messy play at the mud kitchen behind the Orangery, exploring different natural textures.
Families can also watch biodiversity in action as birds, Ham House’s bees and other pollinators are attracted to the wildflowers that pop up across the lawns and courtyards. Discover aromatic lavender in the gardens too as the beautiful purple haze takes over the elegant Cherry Garden, South Terrace border and Kitchen Garden.
Take a break with a picnic or stop by the Orangery for lunch, snacks or a refreshing ice cream. Hot drinks are also available to help power you through the day.
Have a browse in the shop and second‑hand bookshop to pick up a pocket money-friendly treasure.
All activities are included with usual property admission.
