Rose Garden Walk and Talk with the Gardener, Sat 6 June, 10am-11am

This Great Big Green Week, join a tour of our historic rose garden with our head gardener Josh.

Join the tour to immerse yourself in scents and colours while discovering all about the Rose Garden's fascinating history, how we tend our plants and future plans.

The formal rose garden was originally planted 105 years ago by our donor Mr Hatfeild. Historical images show the garden’s layout of 48 irregular rectangular and circular beds of standard and climbing roses on poles. the well-tended rose garden continues to flourish, and the rustic bridges commissioned by Gilliat Edward in 1921 have been recreated and installed in 2025.
