Join us on a 6 mile guided walk around the wonders of Gibside. The adventure will take you through woodland, farmland, and past scenic views over the Derwent Valley. Find out more about the history of George Bowes’ landscape garden and discover secret corners of Gibside. Pack a lunch and wear your walking boots, this walk lasts approximately 4.5 hours.

Meet at the second-hand bookshop in the Market Place.
- What to bring and wear
Please bring a packed lunch, plenty of water and snacks. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear.
- Accessibility
The walk is approximately 6 miles long. There are some steep inclines and challenging climbs along the route.
- Other
Dogs are welcome on leads. We’d ask you to consider the suitability of the tour for your dog before bringing them, as there may be other dogs on the tour and some visitors are nervous around dogs. The guide will be talking throughout the tour, which may not be suitable for dogs who require more attention. Also, the walk covers a large area with inclines so your pooch may need a packed lunch and water too.
