From birdsong to brushstrokes, begin your morning with a guided bird walk led by Michael Turner. Tune into the birds around you, learn to recognise their songs and identify them.
Return to the Stables for an art workshop with Kath Rodger, where you’ll use a variety of materials to create a piece inspired by the sounds you heard.
There are 15 spaces available, all materials are provided, making this a relaxed and creative half‑day experience.

- Meeting point
The Bowes room at Gibside Stables. Please follow the A-frame signs at the Stables for directions.
- What to bring and wear
Bring a bag to take your art home - it may be raining, and the paint may still be wet. Please also wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.
- Accessibility
An access bus is available but participants will need to have the ability to complete the walk. Routes follow established paths, though some options may include steeper sections, dirt paths and stiles.
- Other
Please allow adequate time to arrive, make your way through Visitor Reception and walk to Gibside Stables. We recommend 30-40 minutes for a leisurely stroll and early arrival from Visitor Reception. The Stables coffee shop will be open from 11am.
