Stranger Folk Halloween trail
Join an interactive trail featuring goblins and other creatures who lurk at Gibside.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Something strange is stirring in the woods. Goblins are whispering in the undergrowth, boggarts are slipping between the trees, and a rift between the human and spirit worlds is widening with every falling leaf. Follow the trail through Gibside’s autumn shadows and see if your family can help restore the balance before Halloween night arrives.
Download our new Stranger Folk app and begin an immersive adventure inspired by British folklore.
At Gibside, the Stranger Folk adventure becomes a real‑world trail, with clues, creatures and story moments set out across the landscape to make your journey even more immersive. You’ll only need one mobile phone to play, and the whole family can work together as you explore, discover and meet the mischievous beings who lurk around the estate.
You can download the Stranger Folk app now and play Volume 1, Crone Calling, at other National Trust places, but if you wait and come to Gibside, you’ll experience the full physical trail woven into the story.
