Festive music at Gibside Chapel with the Axum Folk Ensemble

This Christmas, join us for a spirited performance of beautifully crafted folk music.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Swap the carols for something with a beat. Axum Folk Ensemble is an eight-piece band with serious musical chops and a flair for reinventing traditional tunes.

Their sound is textured, rhythmic, and full of soul, think layered strings, playful woodwind and the earthy pulse of double bass. Drawing from British folk traditions but never playing it safe, Axum Folk Ensemble make music that’ll get you foot-tapping in the pews, perfect for those who love their Christmas with a touch of fiddle fire and storytelling soul.
