National Curators Elizabeth Green, Lucy Porten and James Rothwell will be talking to visitors in the Housekeeper’s Room, which is one of the Remarkable Rooms featured in the book.
They will be sharing the history, design and significance of this extraordinary space and what makes it so important within the Trust’s collection and open to visitors for the first time.
Afterwards, we’ll explore the other servants’ spaces with one of the Castle Coole team, before finishing in the Kitchen with coffee and tea.

Elizabeth Green, Senior National Curator and one of the book’s authors says: “Rooms are the human imagination made real. They hold the traces of the people who shaped them – through craft, through habit, through hope. In bringing together these 60 remarkable rooms, we wanted to celebrate not only beauty and design, but the lived experiences that give these interiors their enduring power."
