Four Seasons Painting Workshop, Episode 3 - Autumn at Bishop's Gate Garden

As the season changes, explore the colours of nature in the Bishop’s Gate gardens and woodland, describing nature’s textures and tones through mixed media painting techniques. Local artist Sarah Carrington will lead you through the landscape and paint alongside you, demonstrating different ways to use watercolour painting to respond directly to the natural surroundings of this peaceful location within Downhill Demesne.

Sarah Carrington was born in Scotland and studied Fine Art at Edinburgh University. Since graduating in 1999, she has been practising as a professional artist, specialising in landscape drawing and painting. Currently based on the beautiful Causeway Coast, Sarah finds endless inspiration for her artwork. She exhibits her work locally and throughout the UK, and regularly facilitates painting workshops within schools and local communities, celebrating the beauty of natural landscape.

Please bring a sketchbook/a dozen sheets of paper, acrylics/watercolours (ideally a travel box), pens, chalks, pencils, favourite brushes - whatever you like to paint with; masking tape and water pot with water. Drawing boards and extra brushes will be provided. If you have a portable seat, it is recommended.
