For more than 250 years, ten generations of the Conyngham and Lenox-Conyngham family lived here, leaving behind a rich legacy of stories, collections and archives.

Built in the 1690s by William “Good Will” Conyngham, Springhill has witnessed some of the most significant events in Irish history, from the Plantation of Ulster and the Williamite Wars to the Land Acts and the Second World War. Set within a landscape once ruled by the Gaelic O’Lynn family, the estate reflects centuries of social, political and cultural change.

As you explore the house, you will discover elegant Georgian interiors, one of Northern Ireland’s most important historic libraries, fascinating family collections, and the story of Mina Lenox-Conyngham, the writer and historian who ensured Springhill’s survival for future generations. Today, Springhill offers a unique window into over 300 years of Ulster history through the lives of one family and the home they shaped across the centuries.
