Belton’s landscape is beautiful, and its story has been written over hundreds of millions of years. Join one of our walk leaders for a geology-themed journey through time, where you’ll uncover how ancient forces shaped the rolling hills, escarpments, river basin and other water features.

Along the way, we’ll explore: The local and regional geology that defines Belton’s character How the land was formed and changed over hundreds of millions of years We will talk about dinosaurs and fossils from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods Ice ages and glacial maximums The deep connection between geology, nature, and human history
