This October Half Term, there are two mysterious trails for Halloween adventurers.
Become a Guardian of the Forest
Follow the trail through the park and use your wits to solve a series of riddles and cyphers, while keeping your eyes open for some of Clumber’s most mysterious creatures and characters. From the diamond-backed spider, bats, and crows to tales of the gardener, the Lady of the Lake and the legendary Black Beast, there are secrets to uncover and clues to solve. You’ll need to gather everything required for a protection spell along the way. Complete the challenge to earn your status as Guardian of the Forest. With a mix of puzzles and simpler activities, there’s something for younger children and more confident codebreakers alike. Pick up your trail sheet at Information Point for £3 and set off on your adventure. Will you be able to protect the forest?
Stranger Folk
A rift has opened in the world, and the Stranger Folk are trying to break through. Have you got what it takes to stop them? Download the Stranger Folk app if you are brave enough to try. The adventure starts with a voice note from a mysterious Old Crone who will guide you on your adventure. Inspired by British Folklore, you'll meet goblins and bogarts, and try worm charming and wassailing. The Stranger Folk App is free to download from the Apple Store and Google Play Store. We advise downloading the app prior to your visit. Once the app is downloaded, you don't need wifi or mobile signal to play.

Our Guardians of the Forest Trail is situated alongside main pathways, all of which are wheelchair accessible.
- Meeting point
If you want to take part in our Guardians of the Forest trail, booklets can be purchased from Information Point. Your Stranger Folk adventure can begin anywhere you want to.
- Suitability for children
Our trails are accessible to all ages, but most suited to children aged 5+
- What to bring and wear
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Our Guardians of the Forest trail is situated by main paths, but we advise wearing footwear suitable for autumn adventures.
