Family “Northern Lights” Book Nook Workshop

Create a Northern Lights Book Nook with Your Family Step into a calm, magical winter landscape at this Northern Lights Book Nook family workshop at the beautiful National Trust Hughenden Estate in High Wycombe.

  • Booking essential
  • Admission applies

This hands-on family craft workshop is inspired by the aurora borealis and is perfect for children and adults who love creativity, nature, and atmospheric making.

During this immersive book nook making workshop, families will paint, build, and decorate a miniature winter scene designed to fit perfectly between books on a shelf — a stunning Northern Lights–themed book nook to display at home.

our finished Northern Lights book nook may include: - Flowing aurora borealis effects created with soft, coloured LED lights - Snow-capped mountains rising beneath the night sky - A shiny, mirrored lake reflecting the glowing Northern Lights - A star-filled sky with subtle light details - Optional trees or winter landscape elements for extra depth

Each book nook is completely unique, allowing families to design their own peaceful, magical winter world.

This creative workshop combines painting, model making, crafting, and construction, making it ideal for imaginative children, creative families, and nature lovers of all ages.

No previous crafting or art experience is required. Our friendly, experienced tutor will guide you step by step through the entire process — from painting your aurora sky and snowy landscape to assembling your book nook structure, adding reflective elements, and installing the coloured lights.

- All materials included - Just bring your imagination and a sense of wonder
