Join us for a captivating archaeological walk through time. This guided route takes you across a landscape rich in history, from ancient agricultural patterns to the echoes of a wartime training ground.
Along the way, you’ll explore place such as the Horse Hospital right through to the site of the WWII Parachute Regiment camp and post-war resettlement camp. There’s so much to uncover along with seeing visible landscape changes which gives insight into how the fields were used.
The walk ends at the Parachute Regiment Memorial in the Stableyard. Whether you're a seasoned history buff or simply curious about the stories beneath your feet, this walk offers a unique and engaging experience for all ages.
Walk difficulty:
• Gentle paced walk
• 4 miles with stopping places for discussion along the way.
• Moderate difficulty, includes a hill, some rough terrain.

Please meet at Visitor Reception, there will be the chance to use the facilities at the Stableyard before the walk commences.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear sturdy outdoor shoes and outdoor clothing in line with the weather. Bring appropriate snacks and water if needed.
- Accessibility
There are accessible toilets and parking located in the Stableyard, please note that this walk is along uneven terrain and is not wheelchair accessible.
