Try something new and have a go at spinning in this half a day workshop led by spinning expert, Diane Fisher.
Diane Fisher is a handspinner, craft demonstrator and spinning tutor with over 20 years experience working with wool and many other fibres. She regularly teaches spinning workshops around Derbyshire and surrounding areas and can often be seen at shows demonstrating on an antique Great Wheel.
During your workshop, learn how to:
· Spin yarn using a drop spindle on washed and prepared wool.
· Opportunity to learn how to use other techniques such as the bogway handspinners or on a spinning wheel.
This workshop includes a hot drink (hot chocolate, tea, or filter coffee) from the cafe kiosk. At the end of the workshop, we hope you will have the confidence to be able to spin yarn using a drop spindle. Participants are welcome to take home any yarn produced.
If you would like to take part in spinning, dyeing and weaving altogether, please visit Hardwick’s 4-part Fleece to Fabric Workshop event page for more information.
