Meet Father Christmas in his Festive Rock Dwelling

Dressed in traditional green robes, Father Christmas and Mother Christmas will be paying a visit to the Rock Houses this year. Step inside the Rock House with its cosy wood fire and enjoy a magical Christmas experience.

As you journey through the festive rock dwellings, you'll be welcomed by our friendly Woodland Elves, who will help bring the magic of Christmas to life. Meet Father Christmas in his cosy surroundings where Mother Christmas will also be there to add to the joy, share your Christmas wishes, and receive a special gift to take home.

There will be plenty of opportunities to capture the magic, including a chance to have your photograph taken with Father Christmas, creating a treasured Christmas memory for years to come. Young visitors can also enjoy seasonal activities, including making their very own Magic Reindeer Food, ready to sprinkle to help guide the sleigh to your home on on Christmas Eve.

Come along on the weekends of 5th December, 12th December and 19th December for a wonderful experience filled with traditional Christmas magic, make joyful memories with the whole family. Tickets are £12.50 per child (accompanying adults do not have to buy a ticket but are subject to normal admission). Max 6 children per session.

Sessions are every 5 minutes from 10.30am – 12pm and then from 12.30pm – 2.30pm

The tearoom will also be open for delicious seasonal treats. Admission to the Rock Houses applies to non-members. Free entry for National Trust members and under 5s.

What to bring and wear

Father Christmas will be in one of the rock houses but the activities will be outside so please dress appropriately for the weather.

Tickets to visit Father Christmas at the Rock Houses cost £12.50 per child. A group is limited to a maximum of 6 children (plus accompanying adults). Adults accompanying their children are free of charge but please note that admission to the Rock Houses applies to non-members. Free entry for National Trust members and under 5s. Please arrive at Visitor Reception 10 minutes before the time stated on your ticket.

Rag craft workshops 

Join us for a guided craft session at the Rock Houses. Using the rag rug technique, you'll make your very own rug or wreath to take home. All materials are included plus a hot drink and delicious piece of cake.
