On Friday 30 May, Moseley Old Hall invites you to experience the sights, sounds and smells of a 17th Century coffee house on a day when the country changed forever.
For one day only, the Hall’s Garden Parlour will be transformed into Marson’s Coffee House, inspired by the real establishment that once stood in Wolverhampton. Visitors will begin their visit at the muster point near the Hall, where you will be greeted by volunteers in period dress and guided to the coffee house to join a small group of patrons already deep in conversation.
As the chatter unfolds around politics, trade, and the latest London gossip, a piece of shocking news begins to spread through the room with the arrival of the London Gazette delivery carrying significant news, all set against the earthy scent of roasting beans and the bitter taste of freshly brewed coffee served in the style of the time.
Each session lasts up to 30 minutes and spaces are limited. There will be four sessions throughout the day. Free, timed-entry tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. Admission charges to Moseley Old Hall apply, no advance booking required. Suitable for adults and older children.
Timed tickets for 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3pm - spaces are limited so arrive early and secure your ticket to avoid disappointment.
