Exhibition - Dress to Impress

Join us for a wonderful new exhibition, showcasing fashion in Polesden Lacey.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Fashion is infused throughout Polesden Lacey, brimming with opulence and luxury. This new exhibition, Dress to Impress, delves into the nuanced language of dress to unravel coded messages about power, politics, and personality.

Four paintings have been conserved at the Royal Oak Foundation Conservation Studio, Knole, especially for the exhibition including Johann Zoffany’s portrayal of Eva Maria Garrick.

Displays include new creations by costume undergraduates from Wimbledon College of Arts, part of University of the Arts London (UAL), inspired by Margaret Greville’s Devonshire House Ball photograph album.
