Unlock your creativity this Christmas with our Indian Block Printing Workshops, hosted by printmaker Sarah from Sarita Prints Joy. Taking place inside Bateman’s house, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the art of woodblock printing to design and create your very own cushion cover.
You’ll begin by selecting from a collection of beautifully hand-carved Indian woodblocks to print festive winter and Christmas themed images including botanical berries, holly, reindeer, robins and other merry decorations. Experiment with layouts on a paper template before hand-printing your unique design onto a cream cotton 50x50cm square cushion cover to take home and enjoy.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, Sarah will guide you through every step, with all materials provided.
Friday 7 November, 10.30am-1pm and 2pm-4.30pm. £50 per person, with refreshments provided on arrival. There are 8 people per session, and admission is included.

Your ticket includes: Workshop inside Bateman’s house to include all materials and a cushion cover to take home. If you’d like to add a feather cushion pad insert (50x50cm) for your finished cover, these can be purchased on the day for £10. Refreshments provided on arrival. Entry to explore Bateman's. We will be on our winter opening hours and close at 4pm (last entrance to the house is at 3pm). We recommend arriving early if you are booked on the 2pm-4pm workshop if you want to look around Bateman's.
