Ben loves flowers and butterflies so when his friends Worm and Ladybird suggest he makes his garden prettier by growing his own butterfly garden, he soon sets to work.
This trail follows the ‘Ben Plants a Butterfly Garden’ story by Kate Petty and Axel Scheffler around Bateman’s garden and house. In collaboration with Nosy Crow.

Pick up a trail sheet at visitor reception.

Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather as most of the trail takes place outdoors.
- Accessibility
This trail takes place throughout the garden and house. It includes paths with steps, slopes, varying surfaces and stairs. Please see the access pages at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/batemans for further information.

This trail takes place in the house and garden. The house is open from 11am-4.30pm, with last entrance at 4pm.
