Indian Block Printing workshop
Experience the joys of Indian Block Printing and learn how to hand print fabric and paper creations using designs inspired by nature
- Booking essential
Join this hands-on creative workshop run by Tess from The Indian Block Print Co, suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced block printers. During this workshop you will be hand printing onto fabric and paper using traditional Indian printing blocks that have been hand carved by artisans in India. The workshop theme will be based around ‘An English Garden’ and you’ll be printing with colours and designs inspired by nature, such as botanicals, wildlife and flora.
The workshop will start with an introduction and demonstration followed by a period of time to practice your printing, testing out various colours and designs to develop a pattern. Once confident you will move onto printing a chosen fabric item from the selection of materials, such as a Tea Towel, Tote Bag, Cushion Cover or Napkins. Once you have completed your fabric item, you can then move onto printing onto cards, tags and envelopes. You will finish the workshop with your own printed materials to take home and the confidence and knowledge to carry on printing.
