'The Canals of the Vale of Neath' - A talk by Gareth Hughes
Discover how the Neath and Tennant Canals powered industrial growth in the Vale of Neath — and how they played a vital role in the water-powered industry of Aberdulais Falls.
- Booking advisable
- Admission applies
The Neath & Tennant Canals were constructed to transport coal but carried a variety of merchandise in support of local industry - including gunpowder and 'Dinas Bricks' which were exported as far afield as Russia. The canals came together at Aberdulais which was also the location of a third waterway and one of the earliest canals in Wales.
