Erddig Magnificent Meadows Weekend 2025
Join us to celebrate our wildflower meadows in an exciting weekend buzzing with family activities and demonstrations
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Join us between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, 5 July, and Sunday, 6 July, when our rangers will be sharing inspiring ways to enjoy the important meadows on the Erddig estate through a range of activities perfect for both adults and children. Wildflower meadows are an important part of our natural and cultural heritage, yet across the UK they have declined by 97 per cent since the 1930s. Join us to learn more about their importance. Watch traditional scything demonstrations and try it for yourself, sit and relax on the hay nests , make your own mini hay bale or take a closer look at the observation beehive. Wander the mown paths through the meadow and using a spotter sheet see what wildlife and wildflowers you can discover. On Saturday, 5 July only, from 11am-3pm, there's a nature inspired craft activity. Make your own flower using paper. Shuttle runs will take visitors from the main Erddig Hall to the meadows between 10.30am and 3pm on both days. Activities are free to enjoy. Normal admission charges apply to visit the house and garden. National Trust members and under 5s can enter for free.
